From the list of "Must-Watch Movie List May-Aug 2009", here's the first movie on the list.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
My verdict: Not bad, seriously!!! I LOVE the evidently strong portrayal and projection of profound emotions from all the characters in the movie. I was in fact, immersing myself in the intense feeling of love, loyalty, hatred, and anger projected throughout the whole movie. I'm not a Marvel or X-Men fan but at least, I know how Wolverine should look like with those formidable-looking steel prongs/claws.
The scene that sorta ripped my heart apart was when Logan (Wolverine) realized that Kayla (the woman he loved and was supposedly dead) was one of the mutants that Stryker utilized to trap him into his (Stryker's) horrible plan of creating a supermutant. That scene was truly heartbreaking.
It's kinda sad that at the end of the movie, he had no recollection of who Kayla was. Well, in a sense, that's good. He wouldn't remember what Kayla did to him and how deep he had been in love with Kayla. Sometimes, loving a person involves such a profound sacrifice. I believe Kayla wanted that.
*tsk tsk*
Here's the second movie on the list.
Angels & Demons
My verdict: Well..... I'm not accustomed to Latin or Italian or the history of the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church. So, I wasn't so impressed with the movie. But, in terms of acting and storyline, this movie is a brilliant production. To those who are well-versed with religion and history, this movie will appeal to them. Not me, haha!
