Potato Bread baked in bread maker

Bread maker rocks!

Since the hubby got me a bread maker for my birthday and our wedding anniversary last month, I've baked a few loaves of bread. And a pound cake too! :)

Now, I tried baking Potato Bread using real mashed potatoes (not instant potatoes as seen in a lot of online recipes).

Bread Maker Potato Bread

Recipe adapted from here.

Ingredients:
(Makes a 2lb bread)

1/2 cup potato water (reserved from boiling potatoes)
1/2 cup milk
4 teaspoons corn oil
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons muscovado sugar
2 & 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup wholemeal flour
2 & 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast

How to:

1. By following the bread maker's manual, I have listed the ingredients' sequence correctly - in terms of which ingredient goes into the bread maker first - in the list above.

2. Select the "Basic" and "Medium Crust" settings.

Freshly baked from the bread maker!

You want a piece of this? :)

  1. Hi Joyce,
So sweet of your hubby to get you a breadmaker! This is the kinda of gift that would make me smile the whole day, and the next day, and the day after... ! :)
Your bread looks great, and I like using my breadmaker to knead doughs for breads, if I'm not in a hurry, I'll bake the bread in the oven, otherwise, the good old breadmaker will do the trusty job!
    Happy Anniversary!

    1. I need to fully optimize the bread maker to justify its existence in the kitchen. Hahaha.
