I was driving to Samsung service center, the one at Jln 22 something, to get my Samsung MP3 back. this morning. As usual, I turned on Mix FM. This song caught my attention.

I like the catchy tune but not the song lyrics with all those humps and lumps... whatever...

But there are these few hilarious lines:

It reminds me of "pisau cukur", those girls who hook up with guys for their money only. Haha... May be I'm just being jealous but whenever I'm wandering around shopping malls and saw some really cun giler punya woman strutting around and hanging around their guy, I'll immediately label them as "bitch". Well... may be not all but some definitely are. What for you wear like that to shop? Unless you are shooting for Fergie's My Hump MV laaaa... Stoopid.

The Sprained Tale

The Sprained Tale

It so happened that my right foot decided to protest against too much of high heels and badminton, I guess. At first, it's merely a sprained foot that made walking impossible and hobbling, a necessity. Beneath the brown-colored bandage is some kind of hot, I'd say almost scalding Chinese medicine paste that reminded me about kungfu or something like that. This happened on a nice Thursday evening.

First treatment: RM45. Hmmm... Not bad.

The next morning, Friday, I took off the bandage before going to work. Well, that's what the doctor told me to do.

Then, I went for a follow-up treatment on Saturday. This time it was my ankle that was bandaged. No picture here. Forgot to take.

Second treatment: RM45. Errrr.... o.O

Took off the bandage on Sunday morning.

Then, again I went to the third check-up. Kena balut again. Adui... See the picture.

Guess what? Third treatment: RM45 *nearly vomit blood*

Then, the doctor told me to go for the final check-up on Friday.

That means RM45 x 4 = RM180

T_T

Later I'll watch Kindaichi to forget about the Chinese medicine smell that flows from my poor foot... Bwahahaha...

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Luk, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over. Luk clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

El Orfanato (The Orphanage)

This is the first Spanish movie that I watch: El Orfanato (The Orphanage). It's labeled as 18PL at Malaysian cinemas.

Genre: Spanish horror/suspense/drama film. More...

Produced by Guillermo Del Toro, who also did Pan's Labyrinth and Hell Boy.

Tagline: Un cuento de amor. Una historia de terror (A tale of love. A story of horror)

This is really a subtly chilling movie based on an orphanage. The storyline is good with touches of traditional, not CGI scares such as bumping noises through walls and doors and children appearing silently. Most of the frights are subtle and chilling, sort of giving you some kind of "aftershocks" that linger for a few moments before they fade away. However, there are a few scenes that really made me JUMP from my seat, something I never do even when I watch K-, J-, or T-horror. In fact, most of the chills in The Orphanage are projected in a sad rather than morbid or gruesome way.

The ending of the movie brought tears though...

Watch it if you have time.

Should I believe?

Should I believe? I amused myself with this question.

The question is: Should I believe in luck-related kind of things?

May be I should. I know I shouldn't. I know I should only have FAITH in God. Somehow, these days that doesn't work. In fact, faith becomes a foreign word in my life. What is faith? What about hope? I find myself drifting away from them. I'm drifting away from God, faith, hope, church...

Why?

I don't know.

I know I'm far far better than those who are killed in the big Sichuan earthquake last week. I know.

Today is another depressing day.

The Samsung MP3 has a faulty USB port and I've to figure out my way to Samsung service center. I ended up "makan angin" in SS1 and Sungei Way before I managed to get to the Samsung building. My right foot is the foot that's still needs to be treated later on. Now, I'm using it to step on the brake and accelerator pedals. Imagine the horrifying moments, a few. -_-

My right foot was sprained mysteriously on Thursday and today (Saturday), the "tit tar" doctor has bandaged it again! Next Monday night still need to return to the clinic for check-up. Haiyor... On top of that, I was in the midst of my sprained foot "physiotherapy" when a client called me. Arrgghhh!!!! Why today?

Am not in a good mood. Thought of visiting the crystal shop that I usually go. Then, that crystal guy "broke my heart." According to him, my luck for relationships is almost zero. He said I'm destined to be so. WTF. He continued, this runs in the family. Fine. True enough. I've two unmarried aunts from my mom's side and another unmarried aunt from my dad's side and an unmarried uncle from my father's side. I didn't tell him all these before he commented on my zero luck thingy.

I've this dark feeling that I'm the next "victim." No date. No boyfriend. No husband. No kids. No family. Alone...

*shudders*

The guy continued to say that my weakest point is that I'm too anxious and very impatient. Well... I'm born like that, ok? You think I'm happy with this cacat trait? Stupid.

Fine.

If this is what God wants, so be it.

I do not need anyone to pity me. I can stand on my own feet. I resolve to be a strong single woman who do not need any man's shoulders to cry on! (I hope I mean what I say...)

Better stop lamenting now. Or else I'll end up in puddles of tears and a sleepless Saturday night.

Yesterday was so happy about b1d... b1d...

Then today I'm hobbling around with my one good foot. I sprained my other foot. Don't ask me how I did it 'coz I've no idea. It's like I won an MP3 but lost a foot. Hahaha!

The www.orientaltittar.com doctor in Sea Park told me that I overused my foot. From now on, NO high heels, NO badminton, NO walking too much... Adui... T_T

I missed meeting up with clients for this kinda sprain... :(

Apalah.... Why the sprain thingy, whatever it is, got worse half an hour before meeting time geh? Ady dress-up & make-up nice nice, and I ended up at a clinic! Well, I believe everything happened for a reason though :)

SMSed clients, telling them I couldn't make it to the meeting. Anyway, thanks Chris & Eric for going to the meeting.

I read a story.

A father brought his daughter to a toy shop and asked her to choose anything from the shop that will make her happy. The little girl looked around and finally chose a Barbie doll that delighted her. Happily, she handed the pretty doll to her father.

At that moment, a little boy came into the shop, followed by his father. The little boy's father also asked him to choose a toy. He picked up a little robot from the shelf and looked imploringly at his father. The father shook his head slowly. Gently, he pushed the robot back to the shelf. The little boy let off a little sigh and moved on to the stickers section. After flipping through a few, he picked his treasure. This time the father nodded his head.

The little girl was watching the whole scene. As the little boy and his father walked away, the little girl pulled her father to the robots section and insisted that her father will buy her the robot that the little boy has picked earlier on, not the Barbie doll. Her father eyed her suspiciously, not knowing what has transpired. Anyway, he smiled and took the robot off the shelf.

The little boy and his father were still lingering in the shop. Seizing the opportunity, the little girl asked the cashier lady to wrap the robot and hid it after her father has paid for it. Then, pointing at the little boy and his father, the little girl told the lady to swap the little boy's sticker with the robot when they came to the counter. The little girl explained that she wanted to give a surprise gift to the little boy. The lady smiled and assured her that she knew what to do.

The little girl then waited outside the shop with her father while watching what will happen. Not long after that, she saw the lady winking at her while telling the little boy that he was randomly picked among the customers to win a surprise gift from the shop. The little boy was so surprised! He beamed and smiled while his father rubbed his head lovingly.

Smiling secretly to herself, she held her father's hand and together, they walked to the car. Her father was curious and asked why would she do so. The little girl replied, "You asked me to do something that will make me happy today. I just did."

I found out that making others happy will make me happy as well. I may not get what I wanted; I may not have what I hoped or wished for; but it makes me happy when others are happy. I'll pray for others so that their dreams may come true and they be happy. Then, I'll be happy too :) I know I will...

Topic: If a guy likes a girl, he'll do something to show/tell/display his feelings or affections to that girl. Or rather, whatever action he takes will give people (not only that girl) the impression that he likes that girl. Furthermore, by right, a girl should be able to "catch" what a guy is trying to show/tell/display when it comes to this direction.

Hmmm... Objection!

My argument is:

1. The girl shouldn't sense anything because what the guy is doing may be only and purely out of friendliness or politeness. C'mon! Don't misunderstand so early maa... Later malu eh... Sensibility is better than sensitivity.

2. This depends on both party's personality. This determines the way both parties evaluate what is going on, whether there's the possibility of being more than just friends or not.

But then, some argued that MOST girls should be able to sense if a guy likes you and is doing things to show how he feels.

I still disagree.

Birthday surprise~

In 2006, I treat myself to a 5-day trip to the Philippines in June for my birthday. It's great! Can't wait to celebrate my birthday in different ways every year even it is on my own. I don't mind. It has been so for as long as I can remember ;)

Last year, 15 June 2007, I gave myself a surprise by moving from a house to another house (can't disclose the details in case got online stalkers... you can't be more careful these days...) I "sengaja" chose that date, a day before my birthday, because I want to give myself something different.

Then, this year, again June 15th, I'm repeating the same thing :) Gonna move house again! Yay!! This time round, I like the new house, new room, new surrounding, new parking space, new everything! (Although I just moved a few "lorong" away from my current house!) Hahaha...

This year marks my final birthday that starts with the number "2". Gonna make it a "memorable" one but not traumatized :P

Oh ya... today I ate till I wanna pop! That's actually a phrase I saw on a KFC billboard. The original version is Shop Till You Drop! The word Shop is replaced with Eat, while the word Drop is replaced with Pop. So, it's Eat Till You Pop!

It's World Lupus Day today! I like its logo - two hearts forming a butterfly. Nice, right?

I went to this ANYTHING BUTTERFLY Photography Exhibition at One Utama in conjunction with World Lupus Day. It was interesting to watch different portrayals of "butterfly concept" through camera lenses. Some are real life butterflies in action, some are imprints of butterflies on a model's top, and many more. One word: Interesting photography concept to relate lupus with butterfly. One of the symptoms of lupus is butterfly-shaped rash across the cheeks and nose.

Got this pretty little pink butterfly brooch from the charity booth auntie. Cute!

It has been another interesting day ^^

The Ant and the Contact Lens: A True Story

Got this story from an email. It's beautiful. Read on and be touched...

Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. "Great", she thought. "Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry."

She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens.

When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the Bible verse, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth."

She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me."

Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?"

Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You."

I think it would do all of us some good to say, "God, I don't know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if You want me to carry it, I will."

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

I hereby declare WAR towards Mikey's blog, following this post. Oh yeah Mike, the evil latte above is for you. Muahahahaha.....

18 of us went to this restaurant called Zheng Ho or something for lunch. I couldn't finish my Yuen Yong, so I stared at the half-finished plate for a while, I think. Then, I looked up to find someone to bully since I got nothing better to do. Kekeke...

Who knows arrrr... this Mikey, he looked at me and said squarely to my face, "Wey, finish it. You're so short."

O.O

Then horrr... somemore CS heard about these remarks about "shorty" and commented, "Thanks for being short."

In the lift, Mike continued to fan the flame of war, saying, "Joyce 很好bully 的。" Meaning, it's fun to bully Joyce. I shot back, not angry la... "I gonna put all that you've said in mah blog."

Wah lau... This means WAR ehh... Yeah, Mikey agreed to BLOG WAR!!

Back at the office that time, I was sort of joking with Falancis that I don't wanna pay for what I ate. Well, Wai1 Yan3 (read in Cantonese) paid the bill first. This time Mikey really didn't give face. You knew what he said? He said, "She won't pay because she's short. Only shorties won't wanna pay up their bills."

O.O

So, that's the story...

I tell you arr... This bunch of content-creative team fellas are really crazy one. We play much, but we work harder. Some are really, really chatty, like this one and this one, Naoko. Some are real quiet like Siong-zai. Some got infectious laughter like petite M who sang Baa baa black shit, hely hely woo... Some are destined to be "bullied" like SilverFox/GrayFox, whatever his name is :D

And of course got Mikey, Wind Goddess, Engine, Brain, bla... bla...bla...
