Something interesting. Why?
1. I'm learning Hokkien! After completing more than 10 random episodes of the same drama series, I think I can understand the Hokkien dialect.
2. My previous impression of Taiwanese dramas can be summarized in two words: pathetic and phony. But then, "Niang Jia" is not that bad. Although there are still many scenes that induce crying and sympathizing, this drama actually portrays the real-life struggle of the complicated Chinese extended households.

ReplyDeleteIf you're in Malaysia, this show is aired every Monday to Friday on 8TV, from 11:30am to 1:30pm (with 30min break for mid-day Mandarin news from 12-12:30pm).
