Two Is Better Than One
Friday, January 29, 2010You came into my life and I thought hey
You know this could be something
'Cause everything you do and words you say
You know that it all takes my breath away
And now I'm left with nothing
So maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
And maybe two is better than one
But there's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
And I'm thinking two is better than one
I remember every look upon your face
The way you roll your eyes, the way you taste
You make it hard for breathing
'Cause when I close my eyes and drift away
I think of you and everything's okay
I'm finally now believing
And maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
And maybe two is better than one
But there's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
And I'm thinking two is better than one
I remember what you wore on the first day
You came into my life
And I thought hey
Maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
And maybe two is better than one
But there's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
And I'm thinking
Oooh I can't live without you
'Cause baby two is better than one
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And I've figured out with all that's said and done
Two is better than one
Two is better than one
This is a really meaningful song. I love it. :)

Wednesday, January 27, 2010Movie: Haunted Universities (2009)
Tuesday, January 26, 2010In recent years, especially 2009, Thai filmmakers have the tendency to utilize the technique of shooting a few mini-movies in one movie. Examples: Phobia 1 or 4bia and Phobia 2.
In 4bia & Phobia 2, the mini-movies are not interrelated. In Haunted Universities, the individual storyline isn't interrelated as well but a few of the characters will appear here and there throughout the movie.
There are altogether 4 stories in Haunted Universities. Bear in mind, this movie isn't just about hauntings in universities. Rather, it includes elements related to universities, e.g. students, school compounds, urban legends, murders, etc.
Overall, as the movie rolls on, you might get startled once in a while. You might also laugh at certain comical characters and even during laughable moments. You might also feel pitiful for some victims in the movie. There are a few eye candies, I mean the actresses, not the ghosts. :)
However, in the end, how would I rate this movie? Well, I'd say it's slightly below average. Watch it on DVD if you wish to. :)

Sunday, January 24, 2010不要错放了幸福温暖的手
Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Sunday, January 17, 2010Movie: Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009)
"Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" is an interesting movie, adapted from the first three books of "The Saga of Darren Shan" by Darren Shan. I haven't read the books, so I've no preconception about this movie.
Strictly speaking, this is a movie that appeals to young adults. This is my view concerning movies with vampires or zombies or any of the undead beings as the theme. Another example is the Twilight series. The lead stars are young adults anyway. :)
Okay. Now let's come back to this movie. Cirque du Freak, led by ringleader Mr. Tall, is a troupe of people with abnomalities, or in short, circus freaks. They stay and travel together while making a living out of live, freaky performances.
The zest of the movie is actually the relationship triangle between Darren, his envious friend Steve, and Darren's mentor, Larten Crepsley, the Vampire who "forced" Darren into becoming a Vampire in order to save Steve's life from the venomous bite of Madame Octa (Crepsley's spider).
Mr. Tiny, the so-called "neutral" villain in the movie is plotting to trigger a war, which was already brewing between Larten's camp of docile Vampires and the devilish Vampaneze for centuries. Did he succeed? It's up to Darren and Steve to pull the final trigger.
So, is this a recommended movie? I'd say it's a recommendable entertaining movie - neither morbid nor gory, which is a relief to me. John C. Reilly as Larten Crepsley gave me a good impression and an uplifted understanding about Vampires. Is this good? Well, maybe. :)
Movie: Ju-on: White Ghost & Black Ghost (2010)
Some of us might confuse "Ju-on" with "Ringu" (Japanese) or "The Ring" (American). Here's how to differentiate the two movies.
In "Ringu", you watch a she-ghost climbing out from a narrow well with long hair covering her face. She's Sadako (Japanese) or Samara (American). In "Ju-on", what you see are basically white-faced ghosts, especially that of a little boy. Also, you'll hear that freaking throaty "aaaaaaakkkkkkk" sound from the ghosts. :S
This year, the Japanese feeds horror movie fans with a new sequel from Ju-on. So, we've Ju-on: White Ghost & Black Ghost. In a nutshell, there are two separate movies, i.e. one ghost in each movie with the white ghost taking precedence.
The thing is... this movie is very confusing. Allow me to explain.
The idea of using flashback sequences is good. Each sequence focuses on a character and how he/she is killed by the curse, either directly or indirectly. The white ghosts (take note that I'm using the plural form) are the results of a family massacre. The black ghost is the result of an unborn twin.
The confusing thing is... certain parts of the second movie are related to the first movie directly or indirectly (again). It's as if the scenes were filmed backwards, i.e. against normal timelime by starting off with the latest incidents and drilling down to incidents that happened 7 years ago in the same house. However, not all plots are related correctly or logically. Some plots are hanging in the air, adding on to the confusion, leaving me wondering what is what.
Okay, 'nuff said. My point is... if you're not a big fan of horror movies, give this movie a skip. This advice comes from myself, a horror movie fan. :)

Saturday, January 16, 2010Ok. This (How to Be a Vampire) is the proven "side-effect" of watching Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant with a "Vampire/Zombie". ;)
Should I buy or not buy this book for him? Decisions... decisions... :P
