Who is she?
Most of us grow up not exactly knowing what we want to do or to be. Or sometimes, our wants and gains evolve as we grow up. I was one classic example.
At a tender age of 5, I wanted to become a soldier because I watched people died in war movies. I thought by having a machine gun, I could gun down enemies to save my own life. At the age of 13, I wanted to become a doctor because someone, I couldn't recall who, told me that smart people should become doctors. 10 years later, I obtained a Bachelor of Science with Education (with Honors) from University of Malaya. I was a qualified high school science teacher. Fate had it that I became involved in church services for 4 years of which I spent actively in mentoring young people.
In 2007, I ventured into project management at a digital agency. At this juncture, I found passion in blogging and micro-blogging and I've been "digitally" active since then.
What's your favorite quote?
There are many inspiring quotes out there but this particular quote has captured my attention - If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me. It has also became one of my life principles since then. Do you realize this quote is stringed from 10 words with 2 alphabets each? Each word may not mean much when it stands on its own. But when these words are stringed into a sentence, the meaning they generate is life-changing.
Who inspires you?
Ever since my dad passed away 4 years ago, my source of inspiration is this: elderly couples holding hands - melancholic, sweet, serene. They inspire me to vow to be with the one and only man I love till death do us part because staying together through thick and thin is a life-time test.
Book Smart or Street Smart? Explain.
A tricky question, this is. :D But here's my point of view.
I'd say "Book Smart" goes first, especially for those who aspire to become professionals, i.e. doctors, surgeons, engineers. You need a solid base of printed knowledge in your chosen field. Next, "Street Smart" comes in handy because learning by doing triumphs over learning by reading in the long run. For those who are into entrepreneurship, I believe "Street Smart" is a must-learn trait from day one. Being "Book Smart" would be a secondary bonus for entrepreneurs.
When do you LEAD and when do you FOLLOW? Explain.
Another tricky question, this is. ;) But here's what I usually experience.
Everyone is born to be a leader and a follower at the same time. Given circumstances, the leading or following tendency will surface. I LEAD when the need to have a leader is imminent and no one wants to take charge. Most of the time, I choose to be part of the crowd and FOLLOW the leader who is already in charge.
What's NEXT for you?
Fulfilling the universally normal yet awesome womanly instinct and plan: Getting married and becoming a mother. At the same time, I also hope to venture into small-time online business so that I can spend more time with my kids.
