Freedom Cafe at Medan Jaya Commercial Center, Bintulu is famous for its noodles with cili potong (chili slices). They serve mee (not yellow mee), beehoon, and kuey teow. They also serve other types of noodles such as claypot noodles, loh shu fun (mee tikus), etc.
Mi Cili Potong (Noodles with Chili Slices)
I'm glad that mee in Sarawak isn't the yellow mee used in almost all fried mee dishes in West Malaysia.
Mee or Mi Cili Potong (Noodles with Chili Slices) is a type of local dish that resembles Mee Kolok and Kam Pua (Dry Noodles). The noodles are generously mixed with lard, chili slices, and served with roast pork and a sprinkle of spring onions. It's cheap, i.e. only RM2.60 per bowl and it's definitely perfect for breakfast.
