World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) has announced that the slogan and theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2014 is BREASTFEEDING: A Winning Goal - For Life!
In 10 days' time, it will be ONE YEAR since I gave birth and started breastfeeding my son. Woohoo!
The beginning was rough and rocky for first-timers like myself. So, I'd like to say THANK YOU to my mother-in-law and hubby for being my biggest supporters from day one! And to my little milkaholic, cheers and enjoy your "cuppas" until the very last drop! :)
I'm not an expert in breastfeeding but I do my best and don't over-stress myself or compare with other mothers. I don't have a huge stash of frozen breastmilk but it's okay. I do what I can to stay happy because a happy mom, regardless of the amount of milk she produces, will nurture a happy baby. If I keep on stressing about my ounces and trying to identify milk boosters and busters and what-nots, I would have stopped breastfeeding long time ago.
So, to all mommies, whether you are exclusively or inclusively breastfeeding, here's wishing you Happy Breastfeeding Week!
