20 Things I'm Dreaming of Doing in Seoul – 2025 Edition

Seoul, here I come!

After months of dreaming and planning, my much-anticipated trip to South Korea is finally happening in 2025! I'm counting down the days to explore this vibrant city filled with history, culture, food, beauty products, and Squid Game!

I’ve prepared an ambitious list of 20 must-dos in Seoul, and I can't wait to get 'em realized! Whether it’s exploring ancient palaces or indulging in mouth-watering street food, my itinerary is brimming with experiences I’ve been longing for. Here's what I’m most excited about.

1. Attend a Korean Language Mass at Myeongdong Cathedral

I'd visit Myeongdong Cathedral and attend a Korean language Mass, because why not?

2. Visit the 12-Storey Daiso in Myeongdong

Who doesn't want to to visit this shopping paradise with 12 floors of quirky, affordable finds! I'd definitely want to explore every nook and cranny of this iconic Daiso.

3. Enjoy the Night Vibes Along Myeongdong Shopping Street

I read that when the sun sets, Myeongdong transforms into a wonderland of neon lights, bustling with tourists and locals. I don’t think you can say you’ve been to Seoul without setting foot in Myeongdong.

4. Visit Museums Like Kimchikan and the War Memorial

I also read that Seoul's museums are as diverse as its culture. Museum-hopping and learning about the history of kimchi-making at Kimchikan are definitely on my list.

5. Watch the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace

No trip to Seoul is complete without visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace. Watching the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony feels like stepping back in time.

6. Discover Ikseon-dong Hanok Village

Bukchon may be iconic, but I’m heading to Ikseon-dong for a quieter hanok experience. Think vintage vibes, hidden cafes, and boutique stores!

7. Explore Changdeokgung Palace & Huwon (Secret Garden)

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Changdeokgung’s Secret Garden promises a fairytale-like escape with stunning seasonal scenery.

8. Stroll Along Cheonggyecheon Stream

9. Visit Suwon’s Hwaseong Fortress

10. Explore Starfield Suwon Library

12. Buy Korean Skincare at Olive Young

13. Visit Traditional Markets Like Namdaemun

Namdaemun and Tongin Market are on my radar for unique souvenirs and local food. Who wouldn’t want a DIY dosirak (lunchbox) from Tongin? I read that tourists should avoid Gwangjang Market (the one featured on Netflix), so Namdaemun and Tongin it is!

14. Try Korean Street Food at Mangwon Market

I also read that Myeongdong street food is a tourist trap with overpriced items. An alternative is Mangwon Market, which offers a mix of modern and traditional treats at better prices.

15. Stroll Along Insadong Cultural Street
